Proposal for a Solar farm and energy system
Ampyr Solar Europe is developing proposals for a solar farm, situated near Threemiletown in West Lothian. Part of the site was formerly a shale mine, but it is now gently undulating agricultural land, bound by woodland and the B9080 road. Its development as a solar farm will be a major step towards a sustainable future for West Lothian.
We first held a consultation event on the proposal in November 2022. Since then and following further community feedback in early 2023, the boundary of the development has been amended to create a larger buffer zone between Canal Court and the proposed solar farm. This has triggered a new Proposal of Application Notice (PAN), which was submitted to West Lothian Council in early July 2023. We held a public consultation event on 17 August at Ecclesmachan Village Hall and we are holding our next one on
- Tuesday 12th September 2023 from 2pm to 7:30pm.
