Project Update

Public Consultation

The first Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) was submitted to West Lothian Council on 27th September 2022 and was followed by a community consultation event at Ecclesmachan Village Hall on Thursday 10th November 2022.  The feedback received during this event and subsequent meetings resulted in an amendment to the proposed site design.

Since then, further amendments have been made, which have triggered submission of a new PAN.  This website has been updated with the information that will be presented at third and final consultation event on 12th September 2023.

Please be aware that any comments made on the proposals at this stage do not constitute representations to the planning authority, although we will submit a detailed report to the Council on the feedback that we receive. Once the planning application has been submitted to West Lothian Council, normal notifications and publicity will be undertaken by the Council and there will be the opportunity at that point to make formal representations to the Council.

Feedback from Public Consultation

The main changes resulting from feedback received during the August consultation event are:

  • Buffer-zone to the north of Canal Court has been increased by approximately 45m. This has been achieved by removing panels from the field next to Canal Court to less favourable land in the most northern field;
  • Western most inverter station has been moved further away from Canal Court; and
  • Re-worked internal track plan to use existing farm track between ancient woodland.
