Project Update

Public Consultation

The first Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) was submitted to West Lothian Council on 27th September 2022 and was followed by a community consultation event at Ecclesmachan Village Hall on Thursday 10th November 2022.  The feedback received during this event and subsequent meetings resulted in an amendment to the proposed site design.

Since then, further amendments were made, which triggered submission of a new PAN.  These amendments were presented to the community at a third and final consultation event on 12th September 2023.  Following feedback, the concept design has been amended, with the final proposal being reflected below.

Please be aware that any comments made on the proposals at this stage do not constitute representations to the planning authority, although we will submit a detailed report to the Council on the feedback that we receive. Once the planning application has been submitted to West Lothian Council, normal notifications and publicity will be undertaken by the Council and there will be the opportunity at that point to make formal representations to the Council.

Feedback from Public Consultation

The main changes resulting from feedback received during the September consultation event are:

  • Buffer-zone to the north of Canal Court has been further increased to a total of approximately 230m and the step in the proposed site boundary has been removed
  • Buffer-zone to the west of Mounthooly has been increased to approximately 100m
  • The increased setback distances have been achieved by moving panels to less favourable land in the most northern field
